Welcome

Welcome to Chicago Allergy Center. We are excited to serve you and your allergy needs. We are a comprehensive clinic that specializes in the care of the entire family. We welcome difficult cases as our goal is for our patients to be well managed. We join the asthma taskforce in trying to get asthma better controlled in our pediatric and adult patients in the city of Chicago. We are also partners in the management of Food allergy in making it as safe as an environment as we can for our children in the public and school setting. We also aim to decrease the social stigma associated with food allergy and asthma that has most recently led to bullying in the school setting. We want to take care of our patients in all aspects- physically, environmentally and emotionally. Our goal is to provide as much as education as we can on the management and prevention of food allergy to parents and school systems. We love to do community outreach as well -the more we educate the public- the more knowledge we spread and help our patients remain safe.

We also treat hard cases of atopic dermatitis (eczema) where food allergy might be implicated, and eosinophilic esophagitis/gastroenteritis that can present in early childhood or adulthood.

Over the last few years the identification of primary immune deficiency in a more timely manner has become a goal for all allergists and immunologists as this means getting these patients identified and treated at a much earlier stage. We do investigation in all patients with recurrent infections.

We also do bread and butter allergy that includes management and treatment of allergic rhinitis and conjunctivitis, acute and chronic urticaria (hives) and the management and treatment of drug allergy.

We hope to provide you and your family with optimal care.

Food Allergy

We are seeing a rise in the prevalence of food allergy in our pediatric patients and the answer tends to be multifactorial - genetics plays a role, less wholesome diet with more preservatives, the delay in the introduction of high allergy foods in our pediatric patients and the hygiene hypothesis.
